Celtic F.C. fans raised Palestinian flags and banners showing solidarity with Nablus during a football game between the Glasgow-based Celtic football club and Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The fans raised banners that read "Solidarity Nablus!" and "Free Palestine."

Earlier in 2016, when the club was fined for its support of Palestine during a match against an Israeli Occupation team, the fans started a fundraising campaign and called it #MatchTheFineForPalestine, to ensure the fine would "make a positive contribution," raising over £172,000 were raised for two Palestinian charities, within only a couple of days.

Celtic F.C. were considered the underdogs as the club was established in 1887 by Irish Catholic immigrants who lived in dire poverty and were discriminated against a Presbyterian Scotland, which is why supporters of the Scottish club have shown support for Palestine time after time, because in many ways, their stories are similar to one another.
